An ice hockey gear typically includes the following things:
A helmet may come with either a cage or a visor/shield. The cage protects the entire face and a visor only protects the eyes and the upper half of the face. Therefore a mouthguard is also a necessary part of your gear when you want to play with a helmet with only a visor.
Cups may come with either shorts or suspenders. If you choose for the shorts, you'll often have the option to attach your socks with Velcro. Other options to keep your socks in place include using a garter belt or ordinary tape.
Furthermore, there are also neck guards available, which are mandatory in junior league hockey, as well as bags for your stick(s) if you bought yourself a fancy stick.
Being a student team means that we have to say goodbye to a couple of members every season.
This means that we often have second-hand gears for sale.
Alternatively, in the first weeks of October, we buy new gears for many rookies collectively, which means we can get a good discount.
New or current players who want to order (parts of) a gear can send an e-mail to gear (apenstaartje) slappingstuds.nl
